The side-effects of Anadrol, we've already discussed them in the profile page, but this is such an important topic it needs to be given further attention. We want to look at all the possible side-effects of Anadrol, and in doing so enable you with the ability to enjoy a safe and successful supplementation experience. Of course, there are numerous things you'll need to keep in mind if this is to be achieved, and we'll cover many of those here, but there's one aspect we won't cover in detail. We'll refer to responsible use numerous times, and this largely refers to the dosing and duration of use; please see the Anadrol doses link provided. Of course, that's not all responsible use entails, and the rest we will certainly cover; in-fact, let's begin right there.
There is a criterion you must meet if you are going to supplement with Anadrol; otherwise side-effects may become truly problematic. Further, when it comes to the side-effects of Anadrol, there is an important concept you must recognize; two actually, and when it comes to anabolic steroids these are two important concepts that are often negated. First and foremost is recognizing the side-effects of Anadrol are not guaranteed; just because any substance carries a side-effect doesn't mean you will fall prey. For example, every last over the counter medication on earth carries potential side-effects, some are quite horrendous, but this doesn't mean most will suffer. The same can even be said of vitamins; in-fact, the same can be said of most of the foods we eat. The second thing you must recognize is that we are all unique to a degree, and while responsible use will protect most of us some of us it will not. We will all experience our own specific response to the hormone; after all, most of us can take Aspirin, but some of us can't even at the right dose or we become sick; this must be recognized and accepted before supplementation can begin.
Beyond the recognition of these important factors, you must meet as stated the basic criteria for use; if you do not meet each one you should not supplement. For most men, you will find this little checklist to be no big deal at all, but for some it means the little tabs cannot be touched. The criterion you must meet is as follows:
- You must be an adult male - Anadrol is not meant for women or children
- You must not use any other C17-aa anabolic steroids
Anadrol is a powerful, extremely powerful steroid that will promote mass to the extreme, but unlike most powerful mass promoting steroids it does not aromatize at all. Aromatization is the process by-which testosterone converts into estrogen, and as estrogen levels increase this can lead to many of the most common anabolic steroidal side-effects known to mankind. Even so, despite Anadrol being a non-aromatizing steroid, it can display estrogenic side-effects, and unfortunately, the reason for this increase in estrogenic activity is to this day still unknown. There are many theories, but not one has been proven fact as of this time. In any case, the estrogenic effects include:
In-order to combat these issues, despite no aromatizing activity an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) will still be the answer; after all, estrogen is still the problem, and AI's reduce estrogen levels. For this purpose, Anastrozole (Arimidex) and Letrozole (Femara) are both fantastic choices, and they will offer a lot of protection. Of course, AI's have the ability to increase your cholesterol levels, and the side-effects of Anadrol can at times also include an increase, but all hope is not lost. For this reason, it is imperative you keep your Anadrol and AI doses at a responsible level, and further, of greater importance is that you give extra effort in maintaining a healthy cholesterol level with your diet. Consuming foods that will increase your HDL cholesterol is a great place to start; HDL largely regulates LDL cholesterol and omega fatty acids can be perfect for this purpose. It should also be noted; even with an AI, if your dose is too high you may have blood pressure issues, and even with an AI if you overeat you're going to hold water.
Anadrol is one of the few anabolic steroids that carry both estrogenic and dihydrotestosterone (DHT) related side-effects; no one ever claimed this was an extremely side-effect friendly anabolic steroid. As a DHT steroid, we will find three primary possible side-effects; one is largely dependent on dosing and your genetic predisposition, one completely on your genetic predisposition and the final a little of both. The side-effects of Anadrol of a DHT nature include:
- Acne - largely genetically dependent - dosing can play a role
- Prostate Enlargement - dosing dependent - genetic predisposition can play a role
When it comes to acne, this is one of the most common side-effects of steroid use, and it can occur with just about any anabolic steroid; however, DHT compounds present a much greater risk. Further, unless you're sensitive to acne you probably won't have a problem, but those who are sensitive may find their back, shoulders and chest really breakout, and in some cases, even their face if they don't take precautions. For this reason, it is imperative you keep your skin dry and clean at all times; shower often, shower immediately after you become sweaty and if this isn't an option change into a dry clean shirt and shower as soon as you can.
Then we have hair-loss, and while acne is somewhat genetically dependent hair-loss is completely dependent. DHT can deteriorate the hair-follicles, but this will only be a concern for men who are predisposed to male-pattern baldness; you were already going to lose your hair, but the Anadrol may speed it up. Finasteride products such as Propecia and Proscar can offer a great deal of protection as Finasteride is an androgen suppressor; however, it doesn't always work. If you are predisposed and truly concerned about holding onto every last hair on your head for as long as you can, you may want to avoid this and all DHT compounds. Then we're left with prostate enlargement, and in most cases, if you're healthy you'll only have a problem if you allow a massive DHT buildup, and such a buildup is only going to occur with improper use. Of course, you may have some underlying issue with your prostate and a little extra DHT sends the problem into action; this we cannot predict. At any rate, this is where you will truly find Finasteride useful should enlargement occur as Finasteride has been shown to reduce prostate enlargement tremendously.
Recall from the criteria above "you must not use any other C17-aa anabolic steroids" and that is because Anadrol is a C17-aa anabolic steroid, extremely hepatotoxic and as a result the side-effects of Anadrol can include liver damage. The C17-aa nature refers to a C17-alpha alkylated steroid which refers to a structural change of the hormone at the 17th carbon position that enables it to survive the first pass through the liver. This is necessary to the hormone's survival if benefits are to be obtained; however, it also makes it toxic to the liver, and in the case of Anadrol we have one of the most hepatotoxic steroids of all time. This makes your doses and duration of use truly important, and this is why you must at all cost avoid excess alcohol consumption and all over the counter medications where possible; many over the counter medications are hepatotoxic, and in some cases, more so than many anabolic steroids. If you can do these things, and there is absolutely no reason you can't, although your enzyme values will increase with use, assuming your liver is healthy all should return to normal once use is discontinued and no damage will be done.
